Oakville Rangers to Expand Midget Rep Program for the 2019-2020 Season
Submitted By Melissa Wolk on Thursday, April 25, 2019
Rangers will ice two Midget AA teams in addition to Midget AAA and Midget A teams in the upcoming 2019-2020 season,

This is great news for the club and for the players involved. A few years ago, the ORHC initiated a program that was designed to keep kids playing hockey in Midget vs. quitting or choosing to play high school hockey. Our initiative supports the OHF's desire to keep kids playing hockey in Midget in their home towns. It is gratifying to see that not only are we now regularly icing a Midget A and AA team (in addition to our AAA team) but that we now have enough demand and talent to ice a 2nd competitive AA team. Our thanks to all of the players and families who have made this possible.

One Midget AA team will be largely '02-based and the other will be largely '03-based (essentially creating a Midget Senior and Midget Junior team). In 2020-2021, the '03s will become the Senior team and '04s will make up the Junior team.

The plan is that there will also be a Midget A team which will be made up of both Senior and Junior Midget players in any year that we have enough interested/able players.

As a Club we want to thank all of the players, parents and coaches involved for their passion, patience, and flexibility. To be able to ice four Midget teams this coming season when not so long ago we could only ice one or two is a great day for the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club, for the players involved and for the future of the Club.
