Welcome to SHRINK THE RINK 2024! Some updates and items for all
team coaches and managers to review. Please go over each item below and
ensure your team is up to speed on all things SHRINK! The schedule is out
(see tournament site) FINAL!
- Teams are required to
complete and sign a player participation list for EACH GAME in their
schedule (simply complete your side of the list). Teams are asked to
bring a signed copy of their player participation list to EACH
game. Please see rink convenor at the convenor's desk at Maple Grove
arena to submit your participant list.

2. Player of the Game - Player of the Game pucks will be
available for pick up by bench
staff when the participant lists are dropped off, coach's may award the
pucks to the player of their choice at the end of the game.
3. U7 Game Format:
o Cross-Ice with a Blue Puck and small nets (when available)
o 4-on-4 format
o 2 Periods, 20 minutes each,
run time
o 2-minute buzzer for line
changes
o No scores, stats, or
standings are kept
4. U7 Game Play - Please plan
to have 2 coaches on the ice to facilitate game play as per below. Each team
will need to have volunteers with helmets available to help move the half ice
boards for the assigned floods.
- All games will begin with a center -ice face -off.
- When play is stopped due to the goalie freezing the puck
or goal scored, the HOME coach will yell ‘clear’ and will signal the
attacking players to vacate the zone. Once all the attackers have exited
the zone, the players may re -enter to resume play immediately.
- Player shifts will be 2 minutes in length. A buzzer will signal the
end of each shift. Once the buzzer sounds, players must relinquish control
of the puck immediately and vacate the ice. The new players may enter onto
the ice surface immediately.
- Please note that buzzers will be shared on the rink, so all 4 teams
will need to start their game at the same time and the clock will not stop
at any time.
- Please note that due to the half- setup, both teams will share one
players bench
- Dressing room assignments will be available on monitors throughout
the arena
