Oakville Rangers U16BB-Red wins Regional Silver Stick Champions
Oakville Rangers U16BB-Red team battled hard against high ranking Ontario teams to win the Regional Silver Stick Championship.
The Oakville Rangers U16BB-Red team fought tenaciously being put in a do-or-die situation after loosing a game in the first 3 round robin games. Moreover, we needed to beat the highest ranking team in the tournament (#4 BB team in Ontario) to push them out and for us to advance past the 4th round robin game. The team fought hard and managed to squeak ahead by 1 goal and held it to the end.
The battle wasn't over as the team needed to beat another high ranking team (#5 BB team in Ontario) in the Semi-Finals. The battle pursued and the team came out triumphant with a 2 goal lead.
The teams biggest battle psychologically came in the Finals, where we had to play against the team who had beaten us in the Round Robin, who were also a highly ranked team (#7 BB team in Ontario). The team prevailed and won 2-1 to take home the Regional Silver Stick Championship.
There 3 games were all played on one day, making it a very long day and kudo's to the boys for keeping dialed in and focused the entire day.
