Oakville Rangers Hockey Club 2020/21 Tentative Schedule Outline
***** PLEASE NOTE ***** While every effort has been made to ensure this schedule is final, please be aware that this information is TENTATIVE and subject to change!!
What Tier will my child be placed in? That is a very common question this time of year, but one that does not have an easy answer. The traditional “Red”, “White”, and “Blue” divisions do not exist this year. The health and safety of our players, parents, and volunteers is the first and foremost of our priorities and with that in mind, and in accordance with the Return to Play Guidelines laid out by our governing bodies and health officials, our teams and our divisions are going to be much smaller this this season. To manage that situation, we have instead broken each of the Age groups in to 4 or 5 Tiers. It is impossible to say which Tier your child will be placed in this season as that will not be determined until the House League draft (dates TBD). Once the draft has been completed you will be notified which Team and in which Tier your child has been drafted to.
PLEASE NOTE: in order to maintain competitive balance within each Division, requests to be placed within a specific Tier will not be accepted
OAKVILLE RANGERS TAKE THEIR PLAYER DEVELOPMENT TO A NEW LEVEL
The ORHC is constantly striving to be a best in class hockey club and have gone to great lengths to continuously expand and develop its programs. As the largest Minor Hockey Club in North America, we recognise that the goal of our organization is not to put players in the NHL but rather to ensure a meaningful and enjoyable experience for every player who is enrolled in our programming.
The central focus of the ORHC is for players to enjoy the game of hockey while developing a fundamental skills base in order to achieve their highest levels possible. With this focus in mind, the ORHC is pleased to announce the hiring of the P3 Hockey Academy as our in-house development team. P3 Hockey Academy is made up of former professional players and certified experienced coaches who will be designing and implementing the on-ice component for our Jr. Timbit, Fast Forward, IP, Minor-Novice and Novice programming.
The ORHC has also launched an in-season hockey skills academy which will focus on individual skill development in a fun and supportive environment. The instructors will employ a progressive teaching methodology covering skating, stick-handling, shooting and puck protection while incorporating immediate error detection and correction techniques.

If the last 6 months have taught us anything, it’s that no one has definitive answers, things that made sense a week ago can look ridiculous and completely inappropriate the following week and that making plans is a complicated and tricky process during a pandemic. That being said, after a painstaking process of many many drafts, we have formulated a return to hockey plan that includes as much fun, safety, affordability, development, competition and flexibility as possible. Please visit https://oakvillerangers.ca/Pages/25154/ORHC_COVID-19_Updates/ for details on the ORHC Return to Play plan.
