Oct 19, 2013 Team 1 at Oakville Flames
Aidan (Captain of the Week) and all the boys played well in this 2 - 0 loss. Plenty of hard skating, crisp passes and strong goaltending was seen at both ends of the rink.
Despite periods of sustained pressure in the Team 1 zone, the Flames were not able to buy a goal this week. The game entered the third period scoreless before team 1 scored at 8:56 and then again at 3:02. The Flames found themselves up against a hot goalie this day. It was encouraging to see that even down 2 goals late in the game the Flames didn't give up. A spirited last minute rush that started with a head man pass led to an exciting opportunity that ended with the puck ricocheting of the post. This type of determination will undoubtably pay off as the season progresses.
