Oakville March 4, 2015 – The Minor Atom AE team is off to the OMHA finals after a tough semi-final match against last year’s OMHA Champion, Halton Hills Thunder.
The Rangers won the final game 4-3 with the winning goal coming from a scramble in front of the Thunder’s net with 6.2 seconds left on the clock, taking the series 3-1.
It was an impressive series as both sides showed strong goaltending, great team skill and true sportsmanship. The MA AE Rangers have had an impressive season but the players and coaches knew that it would take great team play to take the next step towards their ultimate goal, reaching the OMHA finals. The boys have really come together in their first year of Rangers hockey growing as a team and as talented young hockey players. We are all very proud of the tremendous effort they have demonstrated and the success that they have achieved thus far.
Congratulations to the MA AE Rangers and thank you to our dedicated coaches, parents, sponsors, volunteers and our association – MOHA. They'll face either Barrie or Whitby in the OMHA finals – dates TBD.
