Oakville Rangers M Bantam AE Start Strong and Learn

Rangers Minor Bantam AE began a new season this past weekend in 2014 Orangeville
Early Bird Tournament (Sept 19 to 21, 2014).
The team brings together a new group of Oakville Ranger players to the AE team with only 4 players returning from the PeeWee AE team while welcoming a exciting fresh new group of players to this team.
The Rangers started out strong on Friday beating Milton WinterHawks 4 to 0 to get out of the gate quickly in the tournament. In the evening, the Rangers faced a very strong and seasoned Hamilton Huskies team in game 2. This was a very good test for the Rangers who played a great game and came back late to tie the Huskies 2 to 2.
On Saturday, the Rangers played divisional rivals in the Centre Wellington Fusion and the Brampton 45's achieving ties in both games 3 to 3 and 2 to 2 respectively. This was a chance for the Rangers to get a better look at some of the divisional opponents that they will play against during the season.
The team barely lost out on making the semi finals by percentage points, however for a new team and developing experience; this was a great showing to not lose a game in the round robin. The team takes some comfort in the fact that the Hamilton Huskies won the tournament and the Oakville Rangers were the only team to take a point from them in the tournament.
