MINOR BANTAM AE WIN BRONZE IN LAKE PLACID
The Oakville Rangers Minor Bantam AE team journeyed to Lake Placid, New York on the weekend of November 6th to 9th and came home with a Bronze Medal.

The Rangers enjoyed a great experience having the opportunity to sit in the same dressing rooms as the 1980 Olympic hockey athletes - which is quite a change from the normal dressing rooms during the season.

The Rangers shook off the travel day on the Thursday to start the tournament with a close 3 -1 with over the New Canaan team from Connecticut.  The evening brought the challenge of the home Lake Placid Bombers who defeated the Rangers 7 - 0.

The Rangers refused to give up and got back to work on Saturday morning beating the New Clifton Eagles 5 - 1 sending the Rangers into the semi-final and a rematch with New Canaan.  In a close and hard fought game, the Rangers lost the semi final 3 - 1 game to New Canaan who went on the win the tournament.

The Rangers were determined not to leave Lake Placid on a down note and came out strong winning the Bronze medal beating the New Clifton Eagles 3 - 0.

A special note to congratulate Phillip Shahviri who was named the top goalie in the skills competition and also to the Relay Team (Ryan Bevington, Holden Harris, Russell Sands and Soren Zamuner) on winning the Silver Medal in this event.
