Atom A Blue team had a great run in the Kitchener Octoberfest Hockey Tournament
October 23 – 25 in Kitchener finishing second to neighbor and league rival
Burlington Eagles in the final to take home the silver medal.
The team went a perfect 4 – 0 in the round robin beating Markham Islanders 3 - 0 in the first game Friday morning and then blanking the Amherst Knights 3 – 0 in Friday evening game. On Saturday morning, the team handled the New Hamburg Hawks 3 – 2 and then carried the momentum into a 4 -2 win against the Grimsby Peach Kings Saturday evening. On Sunday the team edged out the Woolwich Wildcats in dramatic fashion in a shootout in the morning semi final before losing in the final to Burlington. Well done Rangers! The team is off to a fantastic start compiling a 11-3-4 record in league play which has them in second place overall.
