Ranger hockey is back! In what will go down as one of the most
memorable championship games, the Oakville
Rangers U14 AE pulled off an epic win to claim the title at the Bradford
Blue and Gold tournament. The team
started off with a closely contested 2-1 loss to division rivals Milton
White.
They went on to beat Belleville (3-1) and Flamborough (4-1) in the round robin games. In the semi-finals they once again beat Flamborough (4-1) setting up a rematch with Milton. The championship game was hard fought and could not be settled in regulation time with a score of 0-0. The game went into multiple overtimes with both goalies pulling off spectacular saves on breakaways and odd man rushes. The game was finally settled after the 8th overtime period with a one on one battle with an empty net with Rangers taking the title.
On behalf of the coaching staff Dan, Rob, Scott and Jeremy, they are proud of the hard work and effort the team put forward and representing the Oakville Rangers.
Congrats to AJ, Brenden, Caleb, Cody, Cole, Daniel, Ethan, Jack, Jake, Jayden, Joel, Johnathan, Lucas, Oscar, Owen, Reily and Ryan!
