U7 Rules & Game Structure

The priority for each game should be a fun, fair and memorable experience. We recommend having an A and B Rink, where stronger players are placed on Rink A and weaker players placed on Rink B. Please coordinate with the opposing coach prior to each game.

  • 4-on-4 formal
  • 2 x 21.5-minute periods, run time
  • 1.5-minute buzzer for line changes
  • Cross-Ice with a blue puck and small nets (when available)
  • Official Referees and Timekeepers to officiate each game
  • No scores, stats, or standings are kept
  • This Jamboree adheres to the Hockey Canada U7 Player Pathway
