Want to be a Timekeeper? Now accepting applications!
Submitted By Nathan McAnsh on Monday, May 27, 2019
Timekeepers perform a very important role in the game of hockey at all levels. This position requires considerable commitment including punctuality, attendance at all assignments, game sheet accuracy, neat printing, and electronic game sheet and timing device operation.

You will also be required to keep your availability up to date on our online scheduling program. Game assignments and schedule changes are sent by email; therefore, it is necessary to check emails daily. Those who are not able to meet this requirement need not apply.

  • Please be aware that the bulk of our organization’s games occur on weekends.  Timekeepers need to have flexibility and reasonable availability during these times.
  • First year Timekeepers ay only be asked to time keep Novice and Atom house league games, which may begin as early as 7:00am on weekends or 5:00pm on weekdays.
  • Timekeepers may be required to work at any of the following facilities: Glen Abbey, River Oaks, Maple Grove, Kinoak, Trafalgar Park (formerly Oakville Arena), Sixteen Mile, Joshua’s Creek, and Canlan Ice Sports as well as Appleby College.
  • Single game assignments, while not preferred, can and do happen on occasion.

New Timekeepers – 12 years of age or above

Timekeepers are eligible to apply if they are 12 years of age or older as of December 31st of the current season. Priority is given to individuals who meet the following criteria and complete the following tasks:

·         Currently be participating in the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club

·         Complete and submit the Timekeeper Application

Prior to the start of the season, the number of new timekeepers required will be assessed based on a number of factors, including attrition, as well as an assessment of games per timekeeper appropriate to be assigned.

  • Please note that there are a limited number of spots available
  • Once selected, timekeepers will be required to attend a MANDITORY ORHC in-class training session
  • Applications will not be held over into the next season
  • Submission of an application does NOT guarantee a timekeeping position with the ORHC
  • Accepted applicants will be notified by email using the email address that is listed on the application form. This will also be the email address used for updates or information regarding possible meet-and-greet sessions.

Applications for Timekeepers will be accepted until June 28, 2019
