U9 (2012) Rep Development Program Expansion
Submitted By Melissa Wolk on Friday, September 4, 2020
The ORHC will be expanding its U9 Rep Development Program in order to provide advanced training opportunities for a greater number of players and to strengthen its development base for the rep system.

Those players who did not play on the U8 (formerly known as Minor Novice) one and two teams in the 2019-2020 season and who are interested in being considered for the expansion of the rep development program are asked to fill out an APPLICATION FORM.

There will be approximately 40 spots available.  Selection into the program will be done through player evaluations from the 2019-20 season, consultation with ORHC coaches familiar with the age group, and the ORHC Development team and their advisors. Players for each of the U9 Rep Development cohort tiers will also be established using these same resources.  It is important to note that participation in this program does NOT signify that a player has a spot on any future rep team.

In the interest of ensuring strong development, as well as objective evaluation of players at the U9 level, the ORHC will be utilizing the services of P3 Hockey Academy who will oversee the program and incorporate a 10 week development curriculum in addition to running all practices.  The P3 Academy and their instructors have a vast knowledge of the 2012 age group having worked with them extensively in the 2019-2020 season.

Head coaches for the U9 Rep Development Cohorts will be identified over the course of the 10 week development period to supplement the programming and to prepare for a potential return to traditional Rep hockey.
