Oakville Rangers House League Programming Update January 2021
Submitted By Melissa Wolk on Friday, January 15, 2021
Thank you for your continued patience as we navigate the Provincial COVID-19 restrictions and their implications to our programming.

2020 has been a difficult year for hockey and continues to challenge us in the new year. We wanted to take this opportunity to let our membership know that we are here, and that we miss hockey too!
We believe strongly in the mental and physical benefits that hockey provides to our young players and are committed to trying to get back on the ice as soon as it is safe to do so. With the most recent announcement from the Province of Ontario, the first date we could possibly return to the ice would be February 11th.

We have been working diligently behind the scenes assessing programming options and structures to ensure that we will be ready to get back on the ice once the COVID restrictions are lifted.

Our Provincial governing body, the Ontario Hockey Federation, has extended the 2020-2021 season until May 31, 2021 in the hopes that the hockey season can be completed under the current lockdown timelines. This is encouraging news as it means that we will be able to shift the season to end later rather than having to cancel it. The Oakville Rangers Hockey Club has been working closely with the Town of Oakville to ensure the availability of ice time should we be able to extend our regular season into the Spring.

We remain hopeful – and ready - to extend the season as long as we are able to do so. Immediately following the regular season, we will launch the BarDown Oakville Rangers 3 on 3 league this Summer. We hope and encourage all players to remain positive and continue to practice at home, stay active and engage their minds.

Should the provincial lockdown mandates continue past February 11th, we will reassess the options and communicate with you again.

We understand that these are difficult and uncertain times. If you would prefer to have the remaining $120 registration fee from the Fall 2020 House League season refunded, please fill out a request for refund form here.

Thank you for being Rangers. Stay Safe and Stay Positive.
