We believe these coaches will continue to build strong momentum at two of
our most formative age levels, add to our extremely strong coaching group, and with
the support of our deep organizational resources and emphasis on seasonal
planning and curriculum, will contribute to our vision of becoming a "Best
in Class AAA Hockey Program".

Mike Archibald – Under-9 (U19)
Email: [email protected] Phone: (647) 402-5035
Mike Archibald was born in Waterloo and played his entire minor hockey years for the Waterloo AAA hockey teams, serving as captain of several teams during those seasons. Upon completing minor hockey in the late 90’s, he switched his focus to coaching and served as an assistant coach to several Waterloo AAA hockey teams.
Mike has been a coach in Oakville for the past 4 years and has worked with most of the 2013 aged kids throughout the program. His coaching philosophy begins with the core fundamentals of the game – skating, balance, passing and shooting – and has started to branch out to on-ice positioning and awareness as the kids hockey intelligence has grown.
Mike tries to instill hard work and discipline in all the ice times he runs and looks to translate those on-ice hockey skills into everyday life for all his players. He is an avid hockey fan and can often be found at the rink watching other practices to learn new drills and techniques to teach his players. Mike is excited to be joining the Oakville Rangers organization as a coach and looks forward to giving back his hockey knowledge to the next generation of players.
Congratulations to Mike on his selection as Head Coach of the Oakville Rangers Under-9 (U9) AAA team for the 2021-22 season.

"I have witnessed countless negative experiences from the sport I love so much. Hockey is my joy. As a coach I vowed to do my part - to prioritize positivity and team-forward thinking. I strive to create a safe and fair environment conducive for learning. I believe teamwork will always be greater than the work of individuals, and that every member of the team, from athletes & coaches to parents & volunteers, play an important role in each and every athletes' development. I believe in Hockey as a tool to develop character above all. I approach coaching with lots of patience, and an abundance of passion."
Fondest Hockey Memory - "Being present as my Grandfather John McDonald was inducted into the London Knights Hall of Fame in 2020 as a "Builder". I witnessed all the behind the scenes of him scouting the world's top talent. I am blessed that he continues to teach me new things to this day.
