On paper, this game appeared to be a mismatch, and when the first period ended with the Blizzard up 1-0 on a goal from Thomas Luc, the Beards fans could be forgiven for thinking this one was over. But there was hope to come.

There were four goals scored in the second, and the black shirts got three of them to take a two goal lead. All goals came off the stick of Adrian Calleja, who got the hat trick on three separate shifts. Calleja had been playing defence recently, but the move to forward paid off.

The Blizzard got a marker from Connor King with twenty-nine seconds remaining in the period to reduce the lead to one.

In the third, Andrew Melamed had a glorious scoring opportunity while short-handed, deking the goalie, but hit the post. That close call proved to be the turning point, because seconds later the Blizzard tied it up on the power play with a goal from Daniel Tremblay.

The Blizzard kept up the pressure, and at one point had a 3 on 0 break, but the Beards goalie, Sebastian De Silva made the save. De Silva stopped another shot on a 2 on 0 break, but the puck bounced off him and in, giving Andrew Palucci his eighth goal of the season, and the Blizzard held on for the 4-3 victory.
