These two teams appeared to be evenly matched in the opening period, with the only goal coming in the last couple of minutes. The Vipers got on the board first, with Thomas Baker capitalizing when the Leafs goaltender was unable to cover the loose puck in the crease.
The Leafs owned the second period though, scoring three goals. The first two were almost identical, with Christian Caputi able put the puck in after multiple whacks at it by his linemates and himself with the Yellow defence nowhere to be found.
The third goal of the period was scored with just seconds left, with Connor Southworth flipping the puck up over the Vipers goalie to make the score entering the final frame 3-1.
The Leafs scored 4 more goals on route to a impressive victory - Henry Barber, Connor Waters and Southworth with his second with Caputi completing the hat trick.
Lucas Bruce made a fine solo effort, including a beautiful deke to score for the Vipers when the score was 6-1, but it was too little too late. At the closing buzzer Tyler Davis scored his team's third goal.
The final score was Leafs 7, Vipers 3.
