With the Red Bulls tie-ing their game earlier in the day, the pressure was on the Leafs to keep pace, and also remain undefeated on this young season.
They sure gave it a good effort, but ran into a hot goalie, in the Blizzard's Damien Rothgerber.
The first period was scoreless, and the Blizzard's Connor King scored the only goal of the second. That goal came shortly after Rothgerber had stopped a three on zero breakaway attempt.
In the third, Andrew Palucci scored to put the white sweaters up by two, but Quinn Vorster got the Leafs on the board, setting up a frantic finish.
Almost the whole third period was spent in the Blizzard end. With one minute to go and Leafs pressing, Rothberger had to make two good saves to maintain the lead.
The Blizzard held on and skated away with a 2-1 victory.
