The Blizzard entered this match having only one loss on their record, but only had two victories, the same as their opponents the Grey Wolves.
The first period ended 1-0, with the only goal coming when a backhanded shot from Rick Schwarzkopf seemed to surprise Blizzard goalie Damien Rothgerber.
The grey shirts took a two goal lead entering the third, on a goal from Alec Tang.
The Blizzard seemed a little sluggish in this game, but showed some signs of life in the final frame to tie things up. The comeback began when Daniel Tremblay showed some good hustle in beating the defender to the puck and firing a hard shot at the Wolves net, leaving a nice rebound for linemate Evan Hughes to flip into the net.
Eight seconds after Ryan Schooley had tied the game, Tang made a fine rush from the ensuing face-off, rushed down the left wing and fired a hard, high shot past Rothgerber to regain the lead.
Many observers in the stands were wondering if the Blizzard's Cardiac Kids could do it again, pull off a game-tying goal in the final seconds, as they'd done the week before.
Again, they pulled the goalie, but didn't really get a scoring chance. In fact, they were lucky the score wasn't worse when the Wolves hit the post with the net empty.
Final score 3-2 for the Grey Wolves.
