The Grey Wolves were sure motivated for this game, scoring in the first nine seconds! Rocco Commisso got the tally before many of the fans and Blizzard players knew the game had even begun.
They jumped out to a 2-0 lead, with a goal from Alec Tang, but before the first period had ended the Blizzard stormed back with three unanswered markers. One each from Thomas Luc, Connor King (with a wicked wrist shot) and Matthew Wallace.
Five goals in one period. Was this to end up an 8-6 shootout?
Alas, things settled down in the second, and their was no scoring.
The Grey Wolves tied things up early in the final frame with Tang getting his second, and Ayaan Khan took advantage of some sloppy play by the Blizzard in their own zone to give his team back the lead.
The Wolves had led 2-0, fell behind 3-2 and now led again, 4-3.
The Blizzard pulled their goalie for the second straight game, and actually had a good scoring opportunity, but Wolves goalie Miles Bowen made a great save to preserve the victory.
