The Convenor was occupied for the first two games with managing the Picture Day process, but can deduce from catching bits and pieces, speaking with parents and coaches afterward and from the game sheets that both games, both 3-3 ties; were good games between evenly matched opponents.
The Red Bulls and Black Beards played less than a week ago, and that Monday night game at Kinoak Arena ended in a 4-3 victory for the Bulls. The Black Beards were hoping to reverse that in the Saturday rematch.
The Beards scored the only goal of the first period, with Scott Cestnik getting his team on the board.
The second period saw five goals being scored in a see-saw battle.
First William Kasslack tied the game for the Bulls, but Talon Michelson matched that to restore the lead. But with the third goal in a two minute frenzy, Kasslack scored his second to tie the game again.
Seconds later Robert Szalay scored to give the Red team the lead. With time winding down in the period, Mitchelson scored his second of the game to tie things up heading into the final frame.
There was no scoring in the third, so the 3-3 final left the Red Bulls still undefeated on the season.
