A Red Bulls win in this last game of the regular season would give them second place out-right. A tie would create quite the log jam in the standings.

Late in the opening period the Vipers scored first when Matthew Nazaruk's shot was partially blocked, but somehow trickled over the goal line. Seconds later the Red Bulls Lucas Marley tied it up.

The Vipers goalie Oscar St. James-Kush had to be sharp in the middle frame when Robert Szalay made a nice move to get around the defence and broke in alone.

In both the first and second periods two goals were scored in the final two minutes, both less than a minute apart. The Vipers would go ahead, the Bulls would tie it up.

In the second it was Marcus DeMaria giving the yellow shirts the brief lead, and Spencer Osborn evening the score.

In the third period the Red Bulls came close on a power play, with one shot going though the crease behind St. James-Kush and hitting the post on the far side. They had chances but couldn't score.

The play of the game was made by Vipers' defenseman Tyler Davis who broke up a scoring chance for the Red Bulls with seconds remaining that had game winner written all over it.

Final score of the last game of a competitive regular season? A 2-2 tie. The Red Bulls coach said after the game, "We got lucky."
