A 5 to 4 victory!
A solid three 12 minute periods!
Five minutes into the game, the Sabres capitalized on our sloppiness in front of the net to start the scoring. But two minutes later we bounced back with Jedryk scoring. (Obviously his previous game knee injury was on the mend). Three minutes remaining in the first and yet another scramble in front of our net gave way to another for the Sabres. Ferrari, with just 30 seconds left in the first period poked one in between the goalie’s legs following a breathtaking break away making it 2 to 2.
The onset of the second period saw Rasquin’s entire line engage a tic-tac-toe maneuver and pulled off a sweet goal. However, Clarke’s team bit back making it 3 to 3 a minute later. After being chirped by his own teammates as he stood near our bench, Sparling ripped one from the blue line and put it in the top shelf. He wasn’t satisfied with just one goal so he sniped another thirty seconds later on the same shift! Unfortunately, two minutes left in the second a tip shot made it 5-4.
The third period saw end-to-end action and during it we somehow missed an open net by hitting the post. The jets should be proud of their 5 to 4 victory!
