A solid game against the first place Stars.
We poured it on early with Ferrari taking a pass from the back of the net two minutes into the game assisted by line mates Blake and Foss. Our energy subsided a little when the Stars tied it up with 1:30 left in the first. It must have rattled us more than we thought as the Stars took the lead with 43 seconds remaining in the first.
With only 20 seconds into the second period, the Stars solidified their lead 3-1.
However, the Jets took over the game with rush after rush to the net. Watson let at least five boomers go from the point, but the Star’s goalie proved impenetrable. Even our five on three-man advantage didn’t help the scoreboard.
Before the game, coach Brian’s talk included his strong belief that we have the best forward lines in the league with solid defense. I agree! However, all of our goals are due to sloppiness in front of our goal. If we can concentrate on taking out the man in front of our net we will soar to first.
Again a solid game against the first place Stars.
