Stingrays stung by the Jet-fast Jets.
The onset of the game saw Rusak getting warmed up with a barrage of tough shots. Matthew kept us in the game with a shut out performance in the first period against the Stingrays.
But 3:30 left in the first saw Ferrari pour it on with a break away assisted by defenseman Sweet. He missed the first attempt but scored from his rebound at an obtuse angle exemplifying, “never to give up.”
Twenty five seconds into the second, with the Jets short handed, saw Ferrari bounce it off the goalie from beside the net assisted by defenseman Sparling. Michael sure likes his obtuse angles.
Somehow we were skating with only four so Blake scrambles onto the ice only to skate with the puck to the goalie uncontested. His shot didn’t make it, but he managed to pass from the back of the net with McCoy capitalizing on a goal.
The jets were revved up by now making it 4-0 six minutes left in the second with Foss clinching a goal assisted by teammates Jedryk and Sparling
However, the Stingrays scored a minute later shattering Rusak’s shut out.
One minute left saw the Jets perform a well orchestrated 3 on 1 play making it 5-1 with Ribero scoring, beautifully assisted by Jedryk and McCoy.
The third period saw Ferrari get a hat trick from Foss’s rebound giving the Jets a commanding 6-1 lead.
The Stingrays bounced back three minutes left with the Jets short handed.
Rusak was on fire and the defense played a tight game coming up with three assists with Chesnick blocking a hard slap shot, but skated off on his own power.
We took the stinger out of the Stingray’s winning streak!
