First shift, first goal!
The Jets duke it out with a 2-2 tie against the Sabres.

Just 33 seconds into the game McCoy puts the Jets on the scoreboard with Riberio and Blake aiding in the team effort. Unfortunately, two and a half minutes left in the first, we succumbed to a short-handed goal.

With 4:40 remaining in the second Sparling did a heck of a job keeping the puck inside the Sabres’ blue line. Because of his valiant effort, along with defense partner Sweet, they got the puck ahead to sharpshooter Rasquin. He had that look, “leave it to me, boys” as he finessed around the defense and zinged the puck into the top right corner. Ferrari had a shorthanded break away and nearly put it in. There is always next time!

We managed to keep our lead of 2-1 until well into the third. Rusak kept us in the game several times, but he poured it on in the third. There were several scrambles in front of the net but he kept a goal from happening. But lots of penalties arose with Sykes getting cold-cocked from a very unsportsmanlike opponent.

Thirty-six seconds left, with the Jets shorthanded and the Sabres pulling their goalie giving them a two-man advantage, our lead ceded to a final 2-2 tie.

Once again, the Jets should be proud!
