Okay, it’s official the Jets are on a roll…by taking the stinger out of the Stingrays 2-1!
First, the "not so good news"…after great penalty killing we succumbed to a little sloppiness in our end allowing the Stingrays to get on the scoreboard at 4:18 left in the first.
Now for the “Jedryk and the Jets” good news….
After being shut out twice on two fantastic breakaways, Jedryk got a well deserved goal at 2:29 in the second assisted by Chesnick and Nott. Riley Blake also had a great chance, but their goalie didn't budge. There was great end to end plays, but the third period saw Jedryk work his magic again to score the winning goal at 7:54 with the help of Blake and Sykes.
The last two minutes saw some very tense moments as the Stingarys pulled their goalie. Luckily Rusak pulled off some great saves!
After the game, Coach Brian released the names of the captain and four assistant captains.
Matt Simonot will captain the team. Assistant captains are Michael Ferrari, Harrison Watson, Nicholas Jedryk and Matt McCoy. Well done guys!
And well done Jets!
