What A Comeback!
At the Markham Waxers Early Bird Tournament Sept 18-20, the Oakville Rangers Minor Peewee A – White team was up against some tough teams in a two
pool, crossover playing format, with 3 teams in each pool.
While all the pool play games were fairly close until the end of the third period, Oakville lost all three of its games to Barrie, Markham and Whitby. Since it was a scheduled crossover (meaning you did not play teams in your own pool but the other pool of teams) and by the luck of the draw, Oakville was in a pool with Ted Reeve Thunder and Brampton 45’s for pool standings. Ted Reeve tied one game while losing the next 2 and like Oakville, Brampton lost all 3 of their round robin games but the Rangers placed 2nd in the pool by tie-breaker over Brampton. Our Rangers then went on to defeat Ted Reeve in the semifinals and also winning an exciting Finals to a tough Whitby team, 1-0 to be tournament champs after not winning a game in the round robin! Go Rangers!!
