The Atom AE team captured Gold in Belle River this past
weekend, coming out on top of 12 other teams from across the province. A commitment to team defense stifled their
opposition along the way as they went a perfect 6-0, surrendering just 3 goals
all tournament. They were a little slow
out of the gates in their first game, but found their stride soon after as they
carved their path to the championship.
The coaches and parents couldn’t be more proud of their effort this
weekend!
Every tournament has their highlights off the ice as well, and for this team that was chartering a bus and attending the Red Wing/Penguins game on Saturday. Thanks to Kareth Middlemass for organizing that memorable evening, including for goalie Declan Alexander who won the team draw to ride the Red Wings Zamboni as it prepped the ice for the game.
The team now enters a busy stretch of games to close out the regular season. They still have a lot of work left to do in preparation for the playoffs, but are excited to continue building the best version of themselves along the way.
