Meet the Coach
Born and raised in Oakville, I’ve been immersed in hockey my entire life. As a product of the Oakville system, I bring not only a deep understanding of the game, but a true passion for developing young athletes. My love for hockey started in childhood and has grown even stronger through coaching. My focus as a coach is to create a safe, structured, and fun environment where kids can develop their skills, build confidence, and grow as teammates. I believe in a balanced approach that combines discipline, encouragement, and a genuine joy in seeing each player progress throughout the season.

About the Program

Why Be a Ranger?
Choosing to play for the Oakville Rangers U10 A team means more than just joining a hockey team - it means becoming part of a development-focused, community-driven program. Our goal is to build confident, well-rounded athletes who have a love for the game and a strong foundation in both hockey fundamentals and life skills. We believe in:

  • Development First: Every player receives individualized attention to help them progress in skating, puck handling, and game IQ.
  • Teamwork and Respect: Success comes from playing together as One Team, supporting each other on and off the ice, and respecting everyone involved in the game.
  • Effort and Growth: We reward hard work and focus on a growth mindset, helping players reach their full potential.

Our evaluation process looks for more than just skill - we evaluate effort, coachability, attitude, and a willingness to learn. We value families who are committed to development and building a positive team culture.

Program Details & Expectations
Our season plan is built around balanced, structured development throughout the year:

  • Pre-Season (May – June): baseline assessments, team-building, and skill development.
  • Early Season (Sept – Nov): Fundamentals, positioning, and first tournaments.
  • Mid-Season (Dec – Jan): Advanced concepts, special teams, team chemistry.
  • Late Season (Feb – Mar): Strategy refinement, mental preparation, playoffs.

Estimated:

  • 3-4 ice sessions per week, between practice and games
  • 1 dryland training session per week
  • 3–4 tournaments including a local and travel event
  • Team-building and off-ice events throughout the year

We aim to challenge our athletes while maintaining the joy of playing the game. Our supplemental training may include specialized skills sessions, goalie coaching, strength and conditioning, and mental performance development.
