The Oakville Rangers Minor Peewee AA-1 captured the Bowen Tri-County Championship for 2014-15 season by defeating the Oakville Rangers AA-2 team 3 games to 1 in a best of five series.  The situation was unique with an all Oakville final and it clearly showed the quality of the hockey teams that Oakville has produced in the 2003 cohort. The Minor Peewee AA-1 Rangers took full advantage of a last minute invitation to join the International Silver Stick Minor Finals Tournament in Newmarket January 15-18, 2015.

With Cincinnati withdrawing from the Championship tournament, the door was open for the Rangers to join the party and have a chance to prove themselves against all of the regional champions from the US and Canada. After losing a heart breaking final game to North Toronto in November in the Whitby Qualifiers, the Rangers took full advantage of their opportunity to redeem themselves.  Read More

From Coach Steve

This past weekend, the Minor Peewee Rangers took to the ice in Whitby for the Regional Silver Stick Championship. The team fought hard and played outstanding hockey in the round robin. This led to the team being seeded first and moving onto the semifinal game on Sunday morning. The Rangers prevailed and moved onto the finals later that day. Despite falling into a 4 goal deficit, the Rangers fought back hard and nearly tied the game but eventually fell to North Toronto. All of the players and parents should be extremely proud of their effort and dedication as well as conducting themselves as great ambassadors for MOHA.

The Minor Peewee AA-1 Team travelled to Chicago this past week-end for the Bauer World Hockey Invitational Tournament.  The Team dominated the first game 10-4 vs Atlanta, came together as a team and won 3-2 vs Cleveland and in a strange turn of events beat Michigan 6-5 to proceed to the sweet 16 where they were defeated by the home team Chicago Hawks 2-1. Great games very competitive hockey. Other Tournament highlights included Opening Night ceremonies and skate with Trevor van Riemsdyk, Team Bowling party at the Lucky Strike and touring around Chicago in a chartered bus NHLer style. Good time had by all!
Thanks to all the Coaching staff for showing our players the role they play both on and off the ice and making this tournament a memorable one.

The Team really came together yesterday to record the first win (6-2) at the Mississauga Early Bird Tournament.  Most impressive was the teamwork being displayed by all and the encouraging words and actions by the players themselves to each other.  There were 'flashbacks' from Training Camp in the Pre-game rituals and an overwhelming show of support in the stands by all the players families.  Way to go Rangers!  What a great way to kick off a brand new season.
