Close Game
The score was not indicative of how tight this game actually was.

The game was a coin toss, tied at 1-1, with only 7 minutes remaining.  The Phantoms were caught out of position quite a bit and were on their heels for most of the second period.  They withstood the 2nd period onslaught of the opposition which may have been enough to tire the other team.  With only 7 minutes remaining in the third period a few lapses in the defensive play of the opposition was enough for the Phantoms to score 5 unanswered goals.  The opposition goalie played a great game especially since he was not the team's regular goalie.

This game could have gone either way had the Phantoms been scored upon in the second period.  The Phantoms seemed to lose their composure and spent much of the period scrambling in their own end.  Hopefully the Phantoms will use this as a learning tool for the importance of staying in position especially when the going gets tough.

The Phantoms speed was showcased as a few races for the puck were won by the Phantoms which resulted in break-a-ways.  The goalie challenged the puck carriers and was able to hold off the run-a-way Phantoms every time until the final minutes of the game.

The Phantoms have a lot of work ahead of them if they are to tighten up their positional play but they are up for the challenge.....they are the Phantoms.
