New & Improved for 2024! Tri-County Part-Time Select League
The Oakville Rangers and our partner associations in the OMHA Tri-County are proud to introduce the new and improved part time Select program for the 2024/25 hockey season.
WHAT IS THE NEW SELECT LEAGUE?
The 'Advanced-Select League' will be offered at all age groups from U10-U18 and offers an enriched hockey experience, enhancing competitiveness across the Tri-County Select program, all within a structured, seasonal framework. Serving as another pivotal link between House League and Representative hockey, in addition to our existing full time MHL Advanced program. It provides players with an essential transition while upholding a consistent seasonal calendar that cultivates healthy competition among different associations.
STRUCTURE OF THE NEW SELECT LEAGUE:
This hybrid program follows OMHA Select rules and regulations, combining participation in the Rangers House League program and the OMHA Tri-County Select program. These teams will compete part time in the new Tri-County Advanced League. It is designated for House League players that are seeking extra ice time and competitive development on top of their usual House League schedule.
SCHEDULE & COMMITMENT OVERVIEW:
Participation: Players will play full time with their respective Rangers House League teams and receive "bonus" hockey playing with their part-time Select team.
Games& Practices/Month: Part-time Select teams will play 2-3 scheduled Tri-County Advanced League games each month in addition to the potential of 1-2 Exhibition games/month. Teams will also 1-2 practice times each month. This is in addition to an average of 4-6 games each month within the Rangers House League program.
Tournaments: Teams are permitted to participate in up to 3 tournaments throughout the season.
HOW DO TRYOUTS WORK/ WHEN DO TRYOUTS TAKE PLACE?
In order to be considered to play on a part-time Select team, your child MUST be registered for the Rangers House League Program and participate in the tryout process which will take place in SEPTEMBER 2024. More information on tryouts and the ability to sign up for tryouts will be sent out in early September to all registered Rangers House League members.
