Body Contact Clinics (Oakville Rangers Hockey Club)

PrintBody Contact Clinics

All U14 players (born in 2009) as well as any U15 (born 2008) and older who have never attended a Body Contact Clinic are required to attend a Body Contact Clinic before attending a Rep Rangers Tryout. You will not be allowed to try out if you have not completed the clinic. Goalies do not have to attend these clinics.

The ORHC Body Contact Clinics are included with your Tryout Registration fee, but you must be registered for the Tryouts to participate. Clinic sizes are restricted and will fill up quickly. Please be sure to register early to ensure you get the date and time you want.

It is not mandatory that you attend an Oakville Body Contact Clinic - only that you attend one. Many players attend Pre-Tryout Camps, most of which include a Body Contact Clinic, and a separate clinic was provided to the 2021/22 U13 Rep teams as well as the 2021/22 U13 House League Select Team. If you have completed a Body Contact Clinic elsewhere please notify Nathan McAnsh ([email protected]) so your application can be updated to reflect that the requirement has been met.

As space is limited, we would ask that you only attend the Body Contact Clinic if you need to. If you have already completed a Clinic elsewhere, please do not attend the Oakville Clinic as well "just to get some extra ice". We appreciate you want to get on the ice as much as you can - we do too! But in doing so, you may be taking a spot away from someone who actually needs the Clinic and will now be scrambling to find somewhere else they can take it. We appreciate your understanding.

Please note that the Minor Development (MD) Division is non-contact. If you are only trying out for MD and not AE or higher you are not required to attend a Body Contact Clinic.

If you played on any of the ORHC U13 Rep teams or on the U13 House League Select Team for the 2021/22 season please see below

Each of the 2021/22 U13 Rep teams as well as the 2021/22 U13 House League Select Team were provided a Body Contact Clinic. We have the attendance from these clinics - no further action is needed on your part, you are good to go.

When you register for the 2022/23 Spring Tryouts, the Tryout Portal is going to tell you that you have to attend a Contact Clinic. You can disregard this – do not register for a Contact Clinic. The ORHC Office is aware that you have already completed this requirement and will update your Tryout Application to reflect that the requirement has been met. If you miss the Contact Clinic with your team, however, you will need to register and attend one of the Tryout Contact Clinic sessions.
