The Ice Dogs hard work over the first month paid off today!
The Ice Dogs have been working on many different aspects of the game since the beginning of the season. This started from the crease and we have built it out. The defensive game is becoming more solid every week. We have only recently begun to work the offensive side of the ice and it came together for us at the most opportune time.
The wingers truly were mad dogs today in that they would not let up once they had the puck in their sights. The junk yard goals in front of the opposition net are a testament to the never give up attitude the coaches are trying to instill in the players and the players are successfully adopting. The Bobby Orr-like rushes from Josh resulted in two fabulous end to end goals and believe it when i say THAT was self taught. With the start we have had this season, the boys could have easily given up but they are fighters.
What was really impressive was the fact that the players never let up even in the final minutes of the game which has honestly been our achilles heel. Hopefully, the boys can learn from this, and realize this is what it takes every game in order to gain the success they say they want.
