Motown Cup - Exciting Detroit Adventure
The Oakville Red Raiders, an energetic young hockey team whose players had played only five games together, headed for Detroit on November 6 to compete in the Motown Cup.

After a long drive to Detroit Friday, the team faced their first opponent: The Broncos. The Raiders provided a tough challenge in game one. However, the Broncos were able to put two polished and well-conditioned forward lines on the ice and defeated the Raiders by a score of 4-2 (with one empty net goal).

Saturday morning, the Raiders faced their second opponents, the Machine. The Raiders dominated. Speed and accuracy resulted in a 10-1 win over their opponents with all three forward lines contributing to the score sheet.   That afternoon, the Raiders faced the Warriors. Scouting reports indicated this was a rough team that used intimidation to get into the heads of their opponents. Intimidation and physical play didn’t work on the Raiders, however. The team outclassed their opponents with speed and relentless attack. The final score was 3-2 for the Raiders who were never in real danger of losing the lead.   That win brought them a berth in the finals.

Sunday morning the Raiders got what they were hoping for: a rematch with The Broncos.   Having played the Broncos in game one, the Raiders knew what to expect, and hoped to improve on their previous effort. Unfortunately it was not meant to be. The Broncos solid defense kept the Raiders shooters from their net, and an especially strong forward line was able to score. The team went on to win the tournament, undefeated.   The Raiders placed second, a very good result for group of players who didn’t know one another very well before the tournament. That all changed in Detroit.

The team’s performance for the remainder of the regular season will no doubt benefit from their experience in Detroit. Parents and players are looking forward to the next tournament, and a lot more success for the remainder of the regular season.

Harvest Portfolios
Harvest endeavours to provide investors with products that embrace three investment principles. Keep it Simple − A complex product does not necessarily mean it is a better product. We want investors to understand exactly what they are investing in and are comfortable that it meets with their investment objectives. Transparent − A portfolio should reflect what investors thought they were buying. Investors can check their statements and our website and “know what you own”. Consistent Income − After building assets over time, investors want to harvest those assets while maintaining or growing their capital. This is what we are about; generating steady attractive income in this low interest rate environment.
