Timekeepers Wanted
Interested in being a Timekeeper for the Oakville Rangers Hockey Club? Applications are now being accepted for the 2022/23 season.

To apply, please fill out the 2022-23_Timekeeper_Application, fill it out BY HAND, scan and email it to [email protected]. The deadline for applying is July 27th, 2022 - absolutely no exceptions!


Timekeeper Role 2022-2023 

Related Duties
• Keep online scheduling app up to date with availability.
• Arrive at the arena 15 minutes before first assignment.
• Introduce yourself to the home Coach/Manager and the referees 15 mins prior to game.
• Ensure the head coaches have signed the electronic game sheet. 
• Inspect and set up the game clock for each game. 
• Manage the clock, keep track of goals, assists and penalties.
• Audit rostered teams to the actual players on each team. 
• Accurately record game statistics on a note pad and transfer to the electronic gamesheet.  
• Support the on-ice officials in administrative areas. 
• Report all occurrences in line with established procedures.  

Essential Customer Service Delivery Responsibilities
• Provide outstanding customer service at all times.
• Presents him/herself in a cheerful, positive manner at all times.
• Remain calm under pressure.
• Assists in making the league participant’s experience fun and positive.

Requirements Qualifications and Experience
• Strong knowledge in all the rules of Hockey
• Ability to work independently, take initiative and multitask.
• Knowledgeable in the duties with respect to score and time keeping.
• Must be a team player. 
• Must be available to work on Sundays (Games can be assigned around your own game)
• Legible handwriting
• Exceptional problem-solving skills

If you are a person who cannot detach yourself from your phone for the duration of a hockey game, this role is not for you.

Every effort is made to assign two games in a row, or if only one game, local to your home, however depending on available timekeepers this is not always possible.

Due to the volume of applications, only applicants who will be moving on to the next stage in the process will be contacted (before the end of August) 

There will be a compulsory training night, date TBD.
