1st Game
The Wolverines had their first game of the season and it was a very hard fought contest. The Wolverines were able to score early and were able to hold off the opposition attack for much of the game. The positional game of the Wolverines began to break down a bit and the score was tied up. The game was close to ending in a tie but with only two minutes left in the game, the second goal was scored in a scrum at the crease. Although the Wolverines pulled the goalie it was not enough to get the equalizer.
The boys played very well for the first game of the season. They learned quickly that they will have to bring their "A" game to the arena in order to compete this season. The positional play will improve as they boys learn to trust their teammates and learn their own responsibilities on the ice. They broke down a bit in the third and began losing position which caused them to run around a bit. This tired them out in the third period. Overall, a great effort by everyone!
