Great Start to the New Year!
A great start to the new year!  I was a bit worried that we would be rusty coming off the break and not carry on from where we left off.  That concern was erased in the first few minutes once we got the first shift out of the way.  That was a very well-played game by everyone.

The centers did their job again against the league leading scorer and kept him off the score sheet.  The wingers took the puck to the net and the defence did a great job handling the front of the net.  They began putting two players in front of our net and the wingers did a good job of picking him up for the most part but we need to work on that.

The boys shots have improved immensely since the shot board was introduced.  I am very happy with that.  The defence took some shots which is encouraging as well.

What I am seeing very little of is the panic that was prevalent in our games at the beginning of the year.  The boys confidence has grown and they now know what they need to try to do when they are in certain situations.  They are thinking the game now!

With the knowledge we have and our speed, it comes down to heart, and there is a lot of that on this team.  I believe the Wolverines will make their own luck in 2017 and the uncertainty they played with in 2016 will hopefully be left in 2016.  The boys have played much better than their record indicates and the hope is they now realize that.

Two of our three goals today were scored off rebounds.  The first goal was scored by Alex G assisted by Aman and Kyle on a hard working shift.  The second goal was scored by Mark off a pass to the slot from  Maanav and Dante.  And the third was a rebound with Dante in the perfect position in front of the net off a shot by Matthew C and Evan assisted from the bench!  Well Done Wolverines!

Keep the machine rolling!!
